There is something so absolutely perfect about Peonies for any style wedding. There are over 30 species of peonies and over 600 varieties, ranging in vibrant colors such as magenta and royal purple, to softer shades of pinks and creams. They carry a fragrance that is like a subtle perfume, very soft and slightly sweet, I could smell them all day. Their large size adds drama and grandeur to any arrangement or bouquet; they are about the size of a large grapefruit. Their petals are my favorite, now each variety is slightly different in the amount of fullness you’ll get, but the petals are thin ruffled. Very girlie.

A peony can be matched to any wedding style. If you are looking for traditional, you’ll probably want a fuller, pillow like peony, usually in softer shades of cream, pink or yellow. If you are looking for a modern, edgy look, then the bolder color and shapes may suit you better

Peonies are also very complimentary to many other flowers very well. So whether your favorite flower is an orchid, calla lily, rose, or daisies, try pairing them with a peony, you’ll be surprised how well it accents and brings out the beauty in other flowers as well without taking the spotlight.

If you are gardener like me, than you must add peonies to your garden. They are very easy plats to maintain and very satisfying in their bounty. I always look forward to seeing my peony sprout and watching it grow and blossom beautiful flowers. But beware, the squirrels love also love peonies, so I add a little of my Latina flavor to my peonies to keep the squirrels away, Cayenne Pepper. Sprinkle Cayenne Pepper right when your peonies begin to grow full buds, this will help keep those squirrels from sabotaging your beautiful plant.

I found a great farm in Minnesota that carries over 600 varieties of Peony: Hidden Springs Flower Farm, check out their website to see the different varieties and pick out your favorite.

No I don’t normally recommend this, and I always recommend hiring a professional for one of the most important days of your life, but for those who want champagne on a beer budget, you have to go to extraordinary measures to get it. If you are going to take on the grueling and stressful task of doing your own wedding flowers, then try this website: Fifty Flowers. You’ll save money and have a large inventory to choose from.

Hello Bridal Babes,
So many of you really haven’t had a chance to know me and I hope through this blog that will change. I have an extreme passion for the unique, especially when it comes to weddings.
Cake toppers have come a long way since plastics water fountains and plastic bride and grooms. Etsy.Com allows individuals to sell: vintage, handmade, and arts and crafts type items. There are seriously thousands upon thousands of pages available for any occasion. It’s all about Custom Art.
Now, I love butterflies! And no, I’m not so obsessed that I have butterflies everywhere, in fact you wouldn’t know it unless you really knew me. But I found these edible butterflies on Etsy by a shop called Sugar Robot. These edible fluttering delights look so real, it would be a shame to eat them. I can just imagine hundreds of these butterflies cascading up a classic 5 tier white cake topped with more of these beauties. They also carry other creative edibles.

Dandelion Land – Custom painted wooden pegs to look like the bride and groom
Blue Butterfly Designs – Most notable product is the Philly “Love” Park Topper and my favorite, the kissing fish.

Concarta: Unique and meticulously crafted Paper flowers and Cake toppers

White Crush Weddings: I’m a little over the monograms, not to say there are still some fabulous ones still out there, but I love these toppers for the shore and winter bride. The Flirty Bride: Love this girl! Very feminine custom toppers and another fun blog.

Ann Wood: Darling little vintage inspired love birds. Chapeau de Gateau: This company is out of Canada, and this designers is amazing! Hello Bridal Babes A couple of weeks ago, I received a phone call from a groom who asked if he can hold his wedding “recession” with us. I thought, maybe I misheard him, but once again, he asked about his wedding “recession”. I should have corrected him, but I was afraid of offending him, so I let it be. Then we began talking about the ceremony and he asked at what point are their “vowels” said. I said which one, the A, E, I, O or U? (no, of course I didn't say that) but I did say your “vows” and softly stressed the pronunciation – I still don’t think he got it.
This is the second time I have heard someone refer to their “Vows” as “Vowels”, yes second time. I had already shared this story with a friend that also happens to be catering manager at the shore, one who actually witnessed the first occurrence and shared her story with me. She emailed me today, to once again announce another usage of the word “Vowels”.
I know I didn’t have the nerve to correct him, but aren’t I doing more harm than good? So it is my oath to the world that will help educate in wedding terminology and politely correct any verbal mishaps.
If you have been witness to wedding wordplay, please share. We all can contribute to this cause.muah!

To all me dear friends and family, that say I should start a business and do something for myself, this is my first step. I'm Bridal Blogging! To those who don't know me, let me tell you a bit about me. I started out with a crash course to weddings. I started doing weddings at the Seaview Marriott (now a Dolce) in my hometown of Galloway, New Jersey, just outside Atlantic City back in 2003. With over 70 weddings done in my first year as a Banquet Manager, and working under a Seaview Legend, John Vanaman (who's experience dates back in decades), and getting married that summer, I would say that I was catapulted into the wedding world. I was promoted in 2005 to wedding coordinator and did two wonderful years helping brides plan their dream weddings, some with ginormous budgets and other with a modest budgets, but all gave me wonderful stories and added to my wealth of knowledge. They gave me the drive to want to start something of my own. So I left Seaview in 2008 to join a private event planner in the area (I won't say the name because it wasn't a good work experience at all, but was great life experience -in dealing with the crazies of the wedding world). Which in my blog I will help all of you brides to be stay far from these types of vendors. Anyway, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to ditch the dope and work for Borgata Hotel and Casino and The Water Club (Borgata's signature hotel). It was my first time in the casino industry and I absolutely loved the product. What an incredible place! Everything they produce there is top notch. The talent that they have working in that place is worth every penny you pay, but in 2009 the economy was not looking so good, so it was very hard to sell such a fabulous product against tightly clenched wallets. I was a Catering Manager and I learned quickly how, but it wasn't with a lot of push from all angles. I absolutely loved the what I sold there and I recommend it to everyone. However, I unfortunately felt very overworked, quickly, and felt that I kept having to fight for small gestures because I was up against big time gamblers who, in the casino industry, are everything. Towards the end of 2009, and while I was still at the Big B, I got an opportunity to go back to Marriott, in Philadelphia. I was not sure if I could leave the shore, because my whole life was there, but Philadelphia presented a great opportunity to grow in my career, one I felt the Big B lacked. So, with a heavy heart I left Borgata and joined the Marriott team in Philly selling two properties. To all my weddings that I left at the Borgata, I am so sorry, you have no idea how tough it was to leave all of you, I really wanted to see your dream days come true! You are all wonderful people and I have kept an eye on you from afar. Was it a good move? I still don't know. Do I miss the shore and the Borgata/Water Club - absolutely, everyday. Is my quality of life and work better where I am, absolutely. So now, this is where I am. Blogging. Why? Because I miss planning and I miss helping brides make the right choices and knowing that I was part of your families and friends for brief, important moment in your lives. I want to continue to help you make the right choices, so please, come back and check out my blog. I'm going to share with you Best Buys, the right Vendors to choose, top choices, funny stories, new trends, fabulous tips and more. Ask questions, post comments on your favorite wedding planning moments,or post your wedding experiences for other brides to be. Congratulations to all my Brides to be and I'm looking forward to helping you all make the best choices for a personal and wonderful wedding day. kisses...
